cheneyRandal and Candice both grew up in Christian homes. Randal spent much of much of his childhood in southern Africa where his parents, Robert and Eva Cheney served as missionaries with Wesleyan World Missions. Candice grew up in the Northwest United States where her parents, Wilber and Sandy Clark continue to pastor in the Wesleyan Church. They met and married while attending, what is now Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville Oklahoma.

In 1997 they moved to the Northwest and began ministry with the Wesleyan Church. The same year Randal was ordained and Candice graduated from nursing school, the opportunity arose for the Cheneys to minister cross-culturally with Global Partners. In 1999 they served as GO-Net missionaries in Zimbabwe, Africa, for one year, working in the area of leadership development.

In 2005 Randal and Candice once again partnered with Global Partners to serve as GO-Net missionaries for one year. This time they served in Zambia, Africa, at the Pilgrim Wesleyan Bible College in theological education.

In 2010 Global Partners appointed the Cheneys to long-term missionary service to Zimbabwe. Randal’s and Candice’s goal is to come alongside the national church leaders to encourage and equip them for the calling God has placed on their lives. Their vision is to see the potential of the African Church unleashed through the power of the Holy Spirit, transforming lives and entire communities for the glory of God.

The Cheneys have five children: Nathaniel (’94), Marlena (’97), Olivia (’99), William (’02), and Clark-Benjamin (’06).

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6 NIV).
